A composite sketch of a suspect in a possible luring attempt in Hackensack has just been released.

Via automated phone call on Monday, Hackensack Schools Superintendent Karen Lewis informed parents of an attempted luring incident that morning. A boy was on his way to the Hackensack Middle School at 7:30 a.m. when he was approached by a man in his 20s or 30s driving a two-door black Honda with tinted windows. He asked the boy to help him search for his daughter’s lost puppy.  The boy refused and the driver left. The suspect is described as having a goatee, mustache or beard and short, dark spiky hair. His car had no front license plate and displayed a decal on the windshield.

Anyone with information is urged to call 9-1-1 or the Hackensack police at 201-646-7730.

This incident comes on the heels of recent attempted luring reports last week in Norwood, Leonia and Ridgefield Park.
