The YMCA of Greater Bergen County is proud to announce that Barbara J. Gooding (Hackensack) has joined the Development Team as the Grants and Development Director. “The intent of this position is for Barbara to focus on bringing in additional funds to help support the Y mission. She will provide leadership in grant as well as in foundation research and writing.” said Julie Morrow, Communications and Development Director for the YMCA.
Ms. Gooding’s professional background encompasses many years working with several non-profit organizations. Her vision includes cultivating nuances in raising needed funding and elevating the bar of that standard of achievement. For many years she worked as a liaison between the Y and the State of New Jersey to obtain grants for its Childcare and After School Program.
Barbara is a long time resident of Hackensack, a co-author of two books on the City, and a contributing writer to The County Seat newspaper and The Spot writing ‘Memory Lane’. Working in Hackensack is a comfortable fit for Barbara. “I can remember as a child coming to the YMCA on Friday nights jumping in the pool for Family Night Swim. I have many fond remembrances coming here and now working here, I feel quite at home.” said Barbara Gooding.
