Community Bank of Bergen County opened its doors to customers in a small storefront in Rochelle Park 85 years ago. The bank was established by a group of local businessmen to provide personalized financial solutions to the neighborhood. Today, with four office locations, Community Bank continues to serve the Bergen County market by providing the small bank, big service it was initially founded upon.
In honor of the anniversary, the bank is hosting Customer Appreciation Week at its Maywood, Rochelle Park and Fair Lawn offices from Dec. 9 through Dec. 13, featuring refreshments, giveaways and a basket raffle.
“What better way to celebrate CBBC’s 85th anniversary than to give back to our customers,” said Peter A. Michelotti, president and CEO. “Our customers and the communities we serve have always been a priority of the bank. We look forward to continuing to provide exceptional service and to find ways to give back to the very generous communities in which we operate.”
In 1953, CBBC established its first true branch at 210 Rochelle Ave. Shortly thereafter, in 1957, the Maywood office was built to serve the needs of the surrounding communities including Maywood, Hackensack and Paramus. Over the years, CBBC expanded throughout Bergen County adding branch locations in Fair Lawn, in 2002, and in Garfield, in 2007.
