Environmental Awareness at Stony Lane in Paramus

environmental awarenessStony Lane School won an Environmental Awareness Grant from the Bergen County Utilities Authority through the grant from Ms. Scrivens, a kindergarten teacher.  This grant enabled the Stony Lane School students to begin a composting initiative in the school.  Each classroom received a compost pail.  It was labeled with a sign and poster made by the kindergarten students.  The third grade enrichment students under the direction of Mrs. Rochman, researched composting and created a power point presentation for the school.  The students taught the school about how to compost, what it is, what does and does not go into compost, and how compost soil can help the earth.  The compost soil will be used in the Stony Lane Environmental Center to help with growing vegetables, fruits, flowers, and plan
