The City of Hackensack donated a 1985 Mack Pumper Fire Truck to the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute’s Fire Academy. The pumper truck, which was no longer in use by Hackensack, will be used to train the nearly 5,000 firefighters that attend over 280 courses at the Fire Academy each year.

“This fire engine will make an excellent real world addition to the toolbox of instructional aids needed to teach the complex and dangerous profession of firefighting” said Peter Hodge, Director of the Law and Public Safety Institute.
