Library Hosts Gingerbread Extravaganza

Meet a Children's authorThe weekend of Dec. 21 was a wonderful time of the year as the Maywood Public Library hosted its fourth annual Gingerbread House Party.  Participants met children’s author Blaze Kelly Coyle, who read from her first book, The Most Traveled Squirrel in the Whole Wide World.  Children also watched holiday classics such as “Charlie Brown’s Christmas,” “The Snowman” and “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” For the main event, families designed their own graham cracker gingerbread houses while enjoying treats donated by Maywood Market Place.  The event ended with a viewing of “The Santa Clause.”
