The law firm of Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, Club Fit NJ and Councilman Elie Y. Katz are cosponsoring “Teaneck Pounds for a Purpose” to help residents get fit while supporting a local cause. A $25 registration fee will go directly to Teaneck’s Helping Hands Food Pantry, which serves those who cannot afford to feed their families.
Participants may register at www.getfitteaneck.com and complete an initial weigh-in at Club Fit NJ, 408 Cedar Lane, by Jan. 8. Participants who register online must present their receipt at Club Fit NJ during the initial weigh-in. Registration is also available at Club Fit NJ with a $25 check made payable to the Helping Hands Food Panty. All participants must either live or work in Teaneck.
The final weight in must be calculated by April 5 at Club Fit NJ. First, second and third place winners in male and female categories will be awarded a cash prize as well as other gift certificates, electronics and a one-year membership to Club Fit NJ. The top three winners in each category will be determined by the highest total percentage of weight loss.
Registered participants will receive an official Teaneck Pounds for a Purpose Pass that will record weight loss progress. The pass will also function as a discount card at participating Teaneck businesses. For example, Club Fit NJ is offering new members a half price three-month gym membership for $49.99 (a $99 value).
There are three levels of corporate sponsorship of Get Fit Teaneck: gold, $250; silver, $100; and a listing for $5.
Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce and HaonTech.com are all gold corporate sponsors. Anyone interested in participating as a sponsor may contact Danielle Craft at Davis, Saperstein & Salomon at 201-907-5000.
