Lyndhurst Police Department Project Benefits John Theurer Cancer Center

JTCC Check Presentation from Lyndhurst PDThe John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC, now a member of Hackensack Meridian Health, received a generous donation in the amount of $7,566 from the Lyndhurst Police Department from its Pink Patch Project.

The pink patch project is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to raise money and bring awareness to the fight against breast cancer.  The pink patch project centers on vibrant pink versions of the Lyndhurst Police Department patch that was specifically designed for the campaign.  The Department began the campaign by selling pink patches and pink patch T-shirts at various township events staffed by police officers who volunteered their own time.  The project was well received within the community and beyond with more than 900 T-shirts sold.   Officers in the department also wore the pink patches on their uniforms throughout the month of October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
