Mordaga Accepts 3-Year Deal

     Hackensack Police Director Michael Mordaga has agreed to a three-year labor contract offered by the city council. Mordaga, who was hired by the previous administration 13 months ago, will continue to earn is current annual salary of $150,000.

Mordaga is a former Hackensack police offer and chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

During Tuesday night’s public city council meeting, Mordaga announced that arrests were up and crime was down. He attributed the force’s success to cultivating relationships with other law enforcement agencies, block watch associations and the county homeless shelter on River Street.
