Paramus police have arrested a 20-year-old Belleville man for allegedly stealing items from fitness club lockers and parked cars, officials said.
During the months of January and February, Paramus police received several reports of thefts from locker rooms at health clubs. On Feb. 10, several lockers were burglarized at 24-Hour Fitness on Route 4 East. A suspect, now identified as Christopher Gallo, entered the gym locker room, opened at least three lockers and removed the victim’s car keys. He then went outside where he entered the victims’ vehicles, stealing credit cards, cash and GPS units. Detective Glen Pagano was able to locate evidence, and, with the assistance of Belleville Detective Raphael Reyes, was able to identify the suspect. On April 12, Paramus and Belleville detectives located Gallo at his home and arrested him. He was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing and theft of credit cards.
