Taylor Lautner Films in Hackensack

Taylor Lautner smiles at fans while filming the upcoming movie Tracers, in Hackensack.

The Main Dish (152 Main St., Hackensack, NJ, 201-487-0651) received the celebrity treatment as Taylor Lautner and the cast and crew of his upcoming movie, Tracers, rented out the eatery for several days this week while filming in Hackensack. The restaurant has been closed to the public during filming. Merna Georges, who has owned The  Main Dish for 14 months, was excited for the opportunity to host the cast and crew. “It’s great exposure for the City of Hackensack,” she said. “Everyone on the movie has been very nice.”

The action film, scheduled to be released in 2014, features Lautner jumping off the roof (and yes, he does his own stunts) of the bank building (formerly the Hackensack Trust Company) on Main St. and Mercer St. They also filmed several scenes inside of the bank building.

The Main Dish is open 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for breakfast and lunch.

The cast and crew of Tracers gather at The Main Dish during a filming break.
