On Dec. 11, third grade students at the Fanny M. Hillers School in Hackensack, were gifted with brand new dictionaries as part of the annual Dictionary Project, led by the Hackensack Rotary. Other sponsors included Capital One Bank, Hackensack University Medical Center, North Jersey Community Bank and The County Seat. The goal of the Dictionary Project is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. Since its implementation in 1995, over 18 million children across the United States have received dictionaries through the Dictionary Project.
